Volunteers sought by PCC to make a difference in local communities

Police and Crime Commissioner, Donna Jones, is looking for volunteers to visit those being held in police custody in Southampton to make sure their health, wellbeing and legal rights are being upheld.

Independent Custody Visitors make unannounced visits to police custody suites to check that people detained there are being properly looked after. 

They are completely independent of the police service. 

Training will be provided and travel expenses are refunded for volunteers from the local area.
